I seem to be having pretty bad luck with the 12/10 driver, with and without the patch offered today. Also, I hadn't tried the 11/10 driver until today and have problems with it too.
Is there anything changing in the kernel that could affect this?
Sometimes it seems like a reset issue, but I'm having a pretty inconsistent experience.
With 12/10 hostap and Linux kernel 2.4.17-rc2, pcmcia-cs 3.1.30, Zcomax XI-300 and D-Link DWL-650 cards. There's too much data to be consistent about reporting, so here's a smorgasbord:

I'm having trouble getting any result from "iwconfig wlan0 essid foo" commands, though they seem handle mode changes reliably.
I'll look at this more and hopefully produce rational debug output for your consuption in the new year.
Happy holidays!
