range problem with 2 wl100 cards

Hi

I've just joined this list.

I have two compaq wl100s, one in my laptop with the linux-wlan-ng driver (0.1.13-pre1) and the other in a single board computer with the hostap driver from 3 Jan. The connection works fine provided they are only a few metres appart, but after about 3 or 4 metres the connection dies. Where should I start to find out what's wrong?
