This was solved off the list, but the fix might interest others, too. The timeout limits in the current driver are apparently too strict for some cards/use cases. I'm going to use 10x values in the next version for HFA384X_CMD_BUSY_TIMEOUT (100 ==> 1000) and HFA384X_BAP_BUSY_TIMEOUT (500 ==> 5000). This change has removed number of reported stability problems with timeouts during high load.
