txpower and DWL-650

Hi,

Manufacturer claims that the distance between two DWL-650 cards could be something like ~100m but I have already troubles with range of ~7m.

The actual (possibly very stupid) question is that if I increase the value of 'txpower' does it affect the range? And if so, what is 'safe' value?
