Actually, I would like to load station firmware code to RAM to test different versions without needing to update the flash, but yes, one could also load AP firmware with it. However, there is not much support for this. The driver knows how to initialize the card with AP firmware, but I haven't even tested whether it associates with stations. Anyway, linux-wlan-ng can be used for this.
