Btw, if someone is also interested in cards using Symbol/Lucent firmware, I managed to send standard compliant WDS frames with Lucent WaveLAN (sta f/w 6.6.1) and Intel PRO/Wireless 2011 (Symbol f/w 2.1.2). I do not know whether these firmware versions have something like WDS mode in Intersil firmware, but at least these versions worked in pseudo ad-hoc mode.
