I would recommend fixing the CIS and not changing the driver for this kind of special case. Please check "cis" option in pcmcia-cs package; there's a commented example in hostap_cs.conf for Emtac card. This option is used to replace the CIS read from the card with another one from a file. You would of course first need to dump the broken CIS and fix it manually, unless you can get a correct version from the card manufacturer.
