>>Which card and which driver is used in the station that plays the video
stream?
I am running HostAP on D-Link DWL 650 PCMCIA wlan card on a dell laptop with Redhat 7.2.
>>What kind of network configuration you have between the station
and the video stream source (i.e., is the source in wired network and do
you use bridging or routing)?
The network configuration as follows :
Source (i.e video streaming server ) is Dell PC with Pentium 1.4 Ghz on
the wired network. While AP is the HostAP running on a Dell laptop with
D-Link DWL 650 PCMCIA card. And the station is also a Dell PC WITHOUT
HostAP driver , i.e. running as a normal mobile station (uses DLink 650
PCMCIA).
>>Have you tested video playback with the same station with another AP
(i.e., one that does not use Host AP driver)?
No!
>It should be OK without any additional configuration and there is not
really that much to configure for this apart from starting modifying the
code.
What do you mean by "starting modifying the code"?
>>There's only one case that would add some latency due to driver
implementation: station to station bridging using driver code (i.e.,
ap_bridge_packets=1 and two stations associated to the same AP). This
schedules packets to process context which might cause some extra
latency.
I am not using this option!
