If you take a quick look at apps/prism2 directory of OpenAP CVS repository and the latest release of Host AP driver, you might notice that they are identical. The driver used in OpenAP is indeed Host AP driver so I would not really see much point in comparing the features ;-). OpenAP does of course include more programs and configuration scripts etc., since it is fully working AP distribution and not just a driver.

If you are interested in the history, OpenAP project (mostly Simon Barber of Instant802) added support for WDS links to a version of Host AP driver to be used in the mesh network. In addition, OpenAP included some speed optimizations for the AP platform and other small changes. I merged some of the changes more or less directly, but implemented WDS links a bit differently (although based on OpenAP implementation and more or less equal in functionality).
