I've continued trying the CVS version and enabled all posible logging with a sync every minute. I've also upgraded to wireless-tools-25 (from pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net) and compiled them with the current kernel headers (2.4.19).

I found that the machine dies few seconds after receiving an association and a DHCP request from a iBook/airport (with Linux) in the wlan. Very strange because it doesn't occur always and in fact I can have the AP running for several minutes, with heavy traffic, without problems.
