Yes, 1.4.2 is known to not work properly with HostAP. Get 1.4.9 if you can.
Someone just posted a link to a download for 1.4.9 although I haven't tried
it, so I don't know if it's just some .hex files or if it's a GUI updater or
what.
(Okay, I just looked -- It has PDF files mentioning words like "confidential" in them -- I don't know if this thing is legal or not, so download at your own risk.)
