Was this 'latest version from CVS' after the kfree/dev_kfree_skb fix in hostap_ap.c (2001-08-19)? Before that fix, the driver leaked some memory for each management frame. Authentication and association should not have leaked that much memory, but if you were using power saving, it might have lost quite a bit of memory since PS poll frames are used in that case.
How did you measure the 2M memory leak?
