rebecca:/home/jasonb# ifconfig wlan0 192.168.1.1
rebecca:/home/jasonb# iwconfig wlan0 mode master
rebecca:/home/jasonb# iwconfig wlan0 essid vortex
rebecca:/home/jasonb# iwconfig wlan0 channel 7
(inserted client card)
[martian messages]
rebecca:/home/jasonb# ifconfig eth2 down [martian messages go away]

Well, oddly enough the card does work. But I've followed the above proceedure with the 5-19 module, my CVS from Sept 3rd, and today's release, and until this attempt, it failed. I can't explain why. gb2 in #hostap on OPN mentioned he had his card do some weird things and some reboots fixed it, so maybe I caught whatever he had. In any case, it seems to be working, for now.

I am still curious what exactly LinkStatus=2 (Disconnected) means. I still have it, but the card seems to work now, so I guess that message isn't necessarily a bad thing as it seemed to be earlier when my card wasn't working at all?
