Thanks, this capture confirmed my assumptions about the PtP mode. It is almost identical to the one used in Host AP driver's Repeater mode, but broadcast frames are not send like unicast frames. Broadcast frames are send to ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff, probably to limit number of needed frames if there are multiple PtP links from one device.
How is that PtP connection configured to DWL900AP? Is it just added as a link to the peer AP using hwaddr of the other end or is there something else in the configuration?
It would seem that the changes needed for Host AP driver are minimal to support this kind of PtP links. I will add an option for configuring whether broadcast frames are sent like unicast (current behavior) or are sent to broadcast address. If there are more than one WDS link, there will be duplicate frames (assuming bridge code or whatever sends the frame to multiple devices), but it should not be that big a problem. With one WDS link behavior should be identical to PtP mode shown in the capture from those DWL900APs.
