Sending RTS packets

Hi,

I have this obscure idea of framing my own RTS packets and sending it out. Anyone tried this before? I have managed to frame my own probe responses but when I try sending RTS packets out, I don't see it on the air even though send() returns success. Does the firmware consume all RTS packets?
