Everything was going along ok when I tried to watch a streaming video from
my iPaq when suddenly I wasn't connected to the network anymore... My
network card would NOT associate with the HostAP driver....
I finally looked in /var/log/messages and found this repeated over and over...
Jan 28 03:50:04 Repeater kernel: AP: STA 00:60:b3:69:08:e6 trying to associate before authentication
Jan 28 03:50:06 Repeater last message repeated 123 times Jan 28 03:50:06 Repeater kernel: AP: STA 00:60:b3:69:08:e6 trying to<4>AP: STA 00:60:b3:69:08:e6 trying to associate before authentication Jan 28 03:50:06 Repeater kernel: AP: STA 00:60:b3:69:08:e6 trying toassociate before authentication
While I have the iPaq on the PC running the HostAP modem driver runs REALLY slowly.
I believe that I am running the 2002-01-03 version of the HostAP driver. My iPaq has PocketPC 2002 on it, and I am using a Zcomax XI-800 CF card with version 1.0.0 of their driver. (most current)
After restarting the HostAP PC everything was OK. I started streaming my video and everything was fine until I walked out of range. Once I did that with the video streaming the card would not re-associate until I restart the HostAP PC.. And the whole time the card is trying to re-associate the HostAP PC just grinds to a halt, you can hardly type anything.
Has anybody else seen a problem like this?
