Which version of the driver and which Prism2 card are you using? Does the same hardware setup work with another driver?

Could you be a bit more specific with this? What calls get_device_info and what do you mean with "blocked"?

Not with this driver. Host AP mode does not need extra firmware. (linux-wlan-ng would use tertiary firmware for AP mode, but that is a completely different driver; and different mailing list).
The only exception would be a card that does not have even station firmware in the flash and would require it to be downloaded during initialization. However, I haven't seen such a card in real world using full Prism2 chipset. (Nokia C11x apparently downloads station firmware during initialization, but it is using a different MAC processor)

This files should not require any driver specific changes. You will of course need to have a working pcmcia-cs setup to match your hardware, but other than that, only the prism2.conf (with possible added cards) is needed to configure cardmgr to use prism2.o with the card.

Not needed for Host AP mode.
