Hello,
I have a Suse 7.3 out of the box with an 2.4.10-4GB Kernel. When I
compile PCMCIA Card Services utilities version 3.1.33 with the Prism2 Host
AP driver, I got the
following error:
"The kernel source tree is version 2.4.10.
WARNING: the current kernel is sublevel 2.4.10-4GB"
but the package compiles ok.
But...when a card is inserted and cardmgr tries to load hostap_cs driver it fails as you can see:
May 27 00:45:24 micasa cardmgr[4749]:
+/lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/pcmcia/hostap_cs.o: kernel-module version mismatch
May 27 00:45:24 micasa cardmgr[4749]:
+/lib/modules/2.4.10-4GB/pcmcia/hostap_cs.o was compiled for kernel version
2.4.10
May 27 00:45:24 micasa cardmgr[4749]: + while this kernel is version
2.4.10-4GB.
May 27 00:45:24 micasa cardmgr[4749]: insmod exited with status 1
So the 2.4.10-4GB confuses to insmod and it fails as thinks is trying to load a module that doesn't correspond to the kernel version.
The question is if anybody knows why is this happening and how to make it work
Thanks in advance
Alejandro
