case and substring problem of essid

Hi,

I tried the 4/26 & 5/19 ver. of HostAP.
And both of them have the problem:

   if at first we set both AP and STA to essid: abc, then the connection is ok.

   and right after above settings, if we set AP to essid ABC or abccc (STA remains abc)

                                                    then the connection is

(STA is Symbol/3com/Luccent's pc card)
