installation error

Okay, so I don't know a helluva lot about linux, i'm learning as I go. Usually I can get past problems eventually....but this one is annoying me.

when I do a "make install" for pcmcia-cs I get this error...

• Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18-3custom/pcmcia/hostap_cs.o

can someone steer me in the right direction?
