To all out there running a DWL-650 on a older laptop.. adding this to /etc/modules.conf fixed my issue:

options hostap_cs ignore_cis_vcc=1

Ps. Thanks again Eric for your help.

banging my head against the wall for about 4 days now. This card is running on a older compaq LTE 5380 , which im able to get my lucent card working with the wavelan drivers. also the DWL-650 works in winbows on the same laptop. so to cont my story.. beat my head against a wall for 3 days trying to get the hostap driver to work with no luck.. so i decided to take the drive out of the compaq LTE 5380 and install it in my dell insprion 7000 ( reinstall the distro ) well low and behold it worked on the first try, but when i swaped the drive back i get the following listed below: I did take some notes while the drive was running on the dell... (index 0x01 irq 9 0x01 00-0x013f) irq 9 doesn't look used on the compaq.. Im stumped. if anyone could help me that would be great.
