Hi, all,
I have managed to get two machines up with hostap driver. They are pretty happy to talk to each other when both of them are set to ad-hoc mode.
One strange thing is that Linksys WMP11 thinks the rate is 5.5Mb/s, and D-Link DWL-650 thinks the rate is 11Mb/s. Netperf test shows the throughput is around 4.13Mb/s.
Now I like to do some AP testing. I set one card to "Master" mode and set the other to "managed" mode. The second one gives me a flashing LED which indicates no connection. If I change the station side to "ad-hoc", the LED indicates there is a connection. But what test can I do at this point? Also, shouldn't the station side be set to "managed" mode instead?
BTW, what is the difference between "repeater" mode and "master" mode?
Thanks in advance.

P.S., Overall I am very impressed by the host ap driver. It is a really nice piece of work.
